April Nulgit is the daughter of Charlene Carrington, a highly regarded young Warmun artist. April is twelve years old and attends Ngalangangpum school in Warmun. April comes from a family of artists; her great-grandmother is Betty Carrington, a senior artist in Warmun. April often visits Texas Downs country with her mother and great-grandmother, who tell her many of the Ngarrangkarni stories associated with these places. These become the subjects of her paintings.
