Alison Inkamala

Alison paints her country where she grew up in the Hermannsburg community (Ntaria), west of Alice Springs. Many of her paintings feature the Todd River. Alison
had completed all of her schooling at Ntaria, then went straight into
work as a kitchen hand at the school which she had attended. After
a years work, herself along with her Aunty Tabia, Uncle Arnold and
their family, moved into town. They all lived together in the Todd
River opposite the hospital.

Alison was born in Hermannsburg Community (Ntaria), West of
Alice Springs. She had lived there until she was a in her 20s.
Alison's uncle Arnold Ebatarintja
taught her and her siblings to paint landscapes when they were
young. She has painted all of her life. Many of paintings feature the Todd River and the lush foliage that grows along it. Before joining
Tangentyere Artists, Alison sold her paintings to tourists in the
Todd Mall. She enjoys painting with Tangentyere - especially the
workshops on Mondays.
