Painting out of the Warlayirti Arts Center in Balgo, Western Australia, Stella Gimme is both an acrylic painter and is also creating innovative glasswork based on traditional themes of her country. The first glass workshops occurred in Balgo during the 2000-2001 period under the title of the Warlayirti Glass Workshop Program, facilitated by Tasmanian glass artist Pip White. The two pieces on offer represent examples of Stella's work in fired glass and depict country of special significance to her.
